Natural hair Uganda

It’s been a minute, 20,160 minutes to be exact! Over the last 2 weeks I have been swimming in a swamp of unchecked to-do lists. Now that I’ve caught the brief breath, I thought this week would be a great time to introduce to you The Unapologetic Natural. Who is the unapologetic natural, and why must you be your very own apologetic natural?

A couple of years ago many people walked away from the relaxers and started on a journey to wear their hair natural, to this day still, more people are going natural, or rather returning to natural. I joined a couple of natural hair groups, Ugandan hair groups, and whoever-may- dare-to-enter natural hair groups. Why so many, you ask? Well, because I love hair 🙂 ! And it’s also given me the chance to see over and over again how many naturals out there do not like their own hair. These naturals will express how much they love someone else’s hair over their own hair, sometimes going as far as wishing for it. That’s not to say that you must not complement beautiful hair.

We’re going to take it back to the basics and remind ourselves why we went natural in the first place- to be fully accepting of ourselves just as we are.

Who is the unapologetic natural?

The unapologetic natural is one who does not wish they had different “prettier” hair texture;
The unapologetic natural is one who does not think of their hair as shabby;
The unapologetic natural is one who does not hide their hair behind braids all year;
The unapologetic natural is not afraid of brown hair because not all natural hair is jet-black ;
The unapologetic natural is not afraid of short hair;
The unapologetic natural wears their natural hair well and proud!

Will you allow yourself then to be the unapologetic natural, free accepting and liberated.
